Oscar Stewart was the patriarch of The Singing Stewarts, being the eldest sibling in the group. He was highly respected and held in high esteem by his family. He was very selective about what gigs we sang at.
As the head of the family, Oscar was known for his strict standards and expectations, particularly when it came to the group’s presentation and conduct.
The music and the voices are more beautiful than I remember – so pure and unaffected, often unaccompanied – a real breath of fresh air – good for the soul.
